Oral Conscious Sedation

Oral conscious sedation is administered in the form of a pill that you’ll be asked to take before your dental appointment. The medication we typically prescribe is in the diazepam or lorazepam family, which will allow you to remain conscious while feeling incredibly relaxed during your procedure. We typically offer this for adults with mild to moderate fear surrounding visiting the dentist, or for those who require slightly more extensive dental work.

IV Sedation

IV sedation is typically recommended for patients undergoing oral surgery or long or extensive dental procedures, but it can also be provided to those who have severe dental phobia. This method involves administering the medication directly into the bloodstream, ensuring fast-acting and concentrated effects. While you’ll remain conscious during your treatment, you likely won’t remember any details about your procedure.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation

Nitrous oxide is administered once you’re in the treatment chair. Our team will place a small mask over your nose that will allow you to breathe in a colorless, odorless gas. Within less than a minute, you’ll feel a calming and euphoric wave wash over you. When finished, we’ll flush the effects of the sedation from your system by having you breathe in oxygen. In most cases, our nitrous oxide patients are able to return to their daily routines right away.
